Faces first, then everything around them.

Jonathan Chen is a self-taught painter based in Miami, working across painting, drawing, and visual storytelling. He has drawn since childhood and returned to painting as his primary practice in 2025, after studying finance and information systems.

His work moves between personal symbols, emotional landscapes, familiar subjects made strange, and strange subjects made tender. The practice is drawn to duality: life and death, chaos and harmony, creation and destruction.
